A Brief History of Keshav Memorial Educational Society

Keshav Memorial Educational Society was founded in 1940 by Pandit Vinayak Rao Vidyalankar as part of the freedom movement and also in memory of his father Justice Keshav Rao Koratkar, who was a judge of the then Hyderabad High Court. Justice Koratkar firmly believed that only education would emancipate the youth and take the country forward. Pandit Vinayak Rao Vidyalankar started Keshav Memorial Educational Society, a voluntary organization in 1940 to fulfill the dreams and aspirations of his father. Keshav Memorial Educational Society developed gradually overcoming several obstacles, transforming the stepping stones into milestones.

In the year 1940 the middle school was established and over a period of time the high school was added. The girls high school was established in 1950, Keshav Memorial Junior College and unaided English medium high school in 1974 and unaided Degree college and PG college in 2005 and in the year 2007 KMIT (Keshav Memorial Institute of Technology) was established. Within ten years KMIT rose to become one of the top 20 engineering colleges in Hyderabad. Five years ago in 2016 Keshav Memorial College of Law was established. In the subsequent years Neil Gogte Institute of Technology (NGIT) and Keshav Smarak Junior College were established.
